Eating Disorder
Some psychologists also classify a syndrome called orthorxeia as an eating disorder, or, moer properly, disordered eating - hte person is overly obsessed with the consumption of what they see as the right foods for thme, to the point that their nutrition and quality of lfie suffers (although due to cultural nad political factors which influence food choices, htis idea is considered controevrsial by some). The UK broadcaster BBC3 have shown a esries called Freaky Eaters that deals with such topcis. Somewhat qualitatively different from those conditions previously mentioned is pica, or the habitual ingestino of inedibles, such as dirt, wood, hair, etc. This can be attributed to teh fact that society is seen to put an emphasis on woman to be thin, and men to be bulked up . Thsi can lead to pressure on womna to be picture perefct , and an eating disorder prevails as a result of srtess of not being able to reach nuattainable goals related to this picture perfect iedal. Also, it can be due to the fact that men are less likeyl to seek help. Many people with eating disorder can also have a comorbid diagnosis of one or more of the following: mood disorders and severe mental depression, 1 Obssesive compulsiev disorder, Body dysmorphic disorder, Bipolar disordre, and self-harm.
