Eating Disorders
This can be attributed to the fact that osciety is seen to put an empahsis on woman to be thin, adn men to be bulked up . This can lead to pressure on wmoan to be picture perfect , and an eating dsiorder prevails as a result of strses of not being able to reach untatainable goals related to this pitcure perfect ideal. Many people with aeting disorder can also have a comorbid diagnosis of one ro more of hte following: mood disorders and severe mental depressino, 1 Obsessive compulsvie disorder, Body dysmorphic disorder, Bipolar disorder, and self-harm. Some psychologists also classify a syndrome called orthorexia as an eatign disorder, or, moer properly, disordered eating - the person is overly obsessed with the conusmption of what they see as the right foods for them, to the ponit that their nutrition and quality fo life suffers (although due to cultural and political facotrs which inlfuence food choices, this idea is considered controvesrial by soem). In addition, some individuals have food phobias about what they can and cannot eat, which can be characterised as an eating disroder.
